hihi guys!!
I can't help but think about this:
Do you know who brought Pst Kong to church?
Do you know who invited Pst Phil Pringle to church? (probably his classmate)
Do you know who invited Dr A R Bernard to attend church?
I think the person who reached out to Steve Munsey must have find him an interesting guy! =)
Do you have any idea...who met the needs of all these now 'movers and shakers' of our generation?
Well, the people who met their needs, and directed them to God's love, are very seldom mentioned. They are probably ordinary people ... just like you and me.
But i really believe with all my heart, when we reach out to people in our lives, we're really redeeming their destinies.
People do have talents, but they may be using them in wrong ways. But when they are redeemed, things changes. They no longer use their talents for themselves, but for the Lord.
Those ordinary people who reached out to these movers and shakers probably never knew they will come so far. They certainly didn't reach out to them 'cause they knew these people will be mightily used by God.
The BIG question today is...
ARE WE DOING THINGS THAT WILL MATTER FOR ETERNITY?
In simple words, are we doing things that will impact people forever?
Are we leaving 'lasting footprints' in their lives?
You'll never know, the person you care for today will be the next pst Kong.
You'll never know, the friend you're praying for now, will be the next Phil Pringle.
You'll never know, the person you're loving today, will be the next Yi Lun..who'll one day lead a zone of 350!!!
Guys, do you get it? Do you understand? =)
Be it basketball matches, chill out nights, pool sessions, LAN outings, BBQs, whatever it may be, unless we're doing something that will impact people's lives, we are just doing nothing! We're just benefiting ourselves...our own interests, own desires, own wants....just being so inward looking.
How can we see a need...and walk on by??
How can we see a hurt...and ignore it??
How can we see a broken heart...and continue to care only for our own lives??!!
Selfish. Self-centered. Inward-looking. Inconsiderate. 'Don't care' attitude.
These are not attributes of Christ. These are 'attributes' of our sinful nature.
Are we becoming more like Christ, when we claim that we are Christians??
Jesus always put the needs, the hurts, the issues of others before himself.
The truth is, people will never remember you for the number of nights you spent in pubs.
People will not remember you for the greatest birthday party you organized.
People will not remember you, for the big cars you drive.
People will not remember you, for the huge sum of money you have in your bank.
Bill Gates, will be remembered, not only because he was the richest man, or the founder of Dell; he will be remembered as 'Bill Gates, the founder of Dell, who donated so much to his society. Had Bill Gates keep all the money to himself, and not impact humanity, he will not be remembered or even mentioned widely.
Mother Theresa will always be mentioned for the countless lives she'd touched. Even after her death, she is still being talked about.....like right now?! =) We are still inspired by her example.
All these great people did things that left a legacy. They will forever be mentioned in history for all the great things they've done for people, not for themselves.
Today pst Kong showed us an amazing video, about this church in Indonesia. God moved the pastor's heart to reach 2 groups of very extreme people: the mentally unsound, and the transexuals. (say 'wow'!!)
It was simply amazing! The church went to the streets to bring the mentally unsound. They brought them back, cut their hair, bathe them, feed them, clothe them, and teach them to praise and worship God. Some of them haven't bathe for 10 years! Thier hair was so long it touches the floor. For some, the members have to scrab them 5 times to get the dirt off their body. But eventually many of them got healed, and are now working in society!
The transexuals...wow...just speechless when i saw the video! They started with 3 transexuals beginning of 2009, and they are currently slowly expanding. They even reached out to the leader of the entire transexual community in Indonesia (7 million of them)..and she got saved! They actually set up their own fashion label and design their own clothes.
They may not be perfect, but God loves them. They may be the same the rest of their lives, but they'll always be impacted by what the church did for them.
I'm not saying that we should reach out to these group of people immediately!! But the pastor moved out of revelation. Let's move according to what God has spoken to us.
Dear friends, it's the little things we do for people that really matters.
So...what are you doing tomorrow, that'll make a person remember you forever?
There's no impossible task for a willing heart. =)
I pray that God will speak deep into your heart.
